The annual international conference of the Institute of Financial Studies proposes a common ground to debate the impact of international legal provisions on the national markets and also an exchange of ideas for the active players on the financial markets.
2018 is the FinTech year and also the implementation year of numerous European regulations such as MiFID II, IDD, AML - all having a significant effect on the financial markets - from the IT solutions used in the sales process to the customer relationship management department in order to strive for a higher protection of the end user of financial services. All these modifications bring about changes also in the professional development of the employees in this field.
The Institute of Financial Studies organizes on 15th of November 2018, at hotel JW Marriott Bucharest Grand, starting with 9:00 a.m., Constanța Hall, the fourth edition of International Conference " Digitalization and Innovation: new compentences in the financial vocational education”.

Mr. Leonardo Badea is the President of Financial Supervisory Authority from June 2017. With nearly 20 years of experience on the field of economic university education, Mr. Badea was the Vice-rector at Valahia University from Targoviste, and Dean at Faculty of Economics of the same educational institution.He obtained consecutively a Senate and Deputy mandate in The Romanian Parliament, occupying the positions of Secretary of the Budget-Finance, banking activity and capital markets Commission from Senate, and President of Budget-Finance Commission from the Chamber of Deputies. Mr. Leonardo Badea is doctor in accounting at the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies and graduate of the post-doctoral school in economics of the Romanian Academy. At the same time, he is a member of the European International Business Academy (EIBA) and a member of the Centre D’etudes sur le Développement International et les Mouvements Economiques et Sociaux (CEDIMES). Mr. Badea has a sustained activity in editorial and scientific councils of economic publications, being editor of the “Scientific Council of the Journal of Accounting, Finance Add Auditing Studies” in Turkey, editor of the “Valahia Journal of Economics Studies”, CNCSIS B + and member of the editorial board of "Theoretical and Applied Economics", CNCSIS B +. |
Cristian ROSU Vice-President Sector Reinsurance Financial Supervisory Authority |
Mr. Cristian Rosu has an experience for over 17 years in the financial market, a career he has mainly formed in the banking system where he held top management positions. From May 2016 he held the position of General Manager of the Guarantee Fund for the Insured. Between February 2016 and April 2016, he was the Director of the Resolution Division under the Guarantee Fund for the Insured. In this position he coordinated the resolution process on Carpatica Asig SA, assuring the fulfillment of the legal attributions for assessing the financial position of the insurer as a result of a rapid deterioration of the financial situation, and from May 2016 he became the General Manager of the Guarantee Fund for the Insured. |
Attila GYORGY Secretary of State Ministry of Public Finance Romania |
Mr. Attila Gyorgy is Secretary of State at the Ministry of Public Finance in Romania since April 2014. He is currently responsible for coordinating the International Financial Relations Department, the Certifying and Paying Authority, and the Relationship Department with the Parliament, trade unions and employers in the Ministry. As coordinator of the International Financial Relations Department, Mr. Gyorgy manages the institutional relationship between MFP and the NBR, respectively ASF. Mr. Gyorgy is also a teacher at the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest, where his field of study covers public finances and budgets. |

Mr. Calin Rangu is double-licensed, PhD in neural networks applied in the financial series, MBA graduate, university lecturer, scientific researcher, ASF director of the Directorate of Supervision, Intermediate Control and Conduct Rules, President of the Institute of Financial Studies, Vice-Chairman of the ITF Committee of the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA), member of the Consumer Protection and Financial Innovation Committee of EIOPA, member of the EFICERT Board (European Financial certification Organisation), coordinator of the InsurTech HUB of ASF. He has over 20 years of experience in the financial-banking field, over 15 years of private sector management (Raiffeisen Bank, Raiffeisen Informatik Austria), in BNR, IBR and ASF. He published more than 150 articles, and two books, being an organizer or speaker at major Romanian Conferences related to consumer protection and rules of conduct, financial-banking, information systems, technologies and financial innovations, operational risk management, cyber security, alternative dispute resolution, etc. |

Mr. Adrian Marin has an experience, for over 20 years, in insurance, the career he has formed in Generali Romania, where he held various functions, from senior underwriter to head of office or department director and then top management positions. Since September 2011 he is the General Manager of the General Romania, a position he is currently occupying. In the period 2010 – October 2016 he was a member of the Executive Board of the National Union of Insurers and Reinsurers in Romania (UNSAR), where he was actively involved in supporting projects initiated at Union level, and from October 2016 he was elected President UNSAR. Between 2013 – 2014 he was also a member of the Insurance Europe Strategic Committee. |

Mr. Iulian Stan is Executive Vice President of Financial Investment Company SIF Transilvania S.A. Brasov. He has been working in the capital market for more than 25 years, has economic and technical training as well as various international specializations, doctoral specialization in the field of trading of company shares. He is also an expert evaluator - member of the National Association of Evaluators of Romania (ANEVAR), financial auditor - member of the Chamber of Financial Auditors of Romania (CAFR), expert accountant - member of the body of accounting experts and of authorized accountants from Romania (CECCAR). With practical experience in managing the portfolio and investment S.I.F. Transilvania, being involved in direct administration of the various companies, was chairman of the Board of Directors of the Depositary Sibex, administrator of the Sibex and Vice-President of the National Association of Securities Companies in Romania, as well as the President of the Brasov Territorial centre of ANEVAR. He has a university didactic experience and is an author of various publications/scientific communications in the economic field. Vocational training and practical experience allowed him to approach and address systemic and interdisciplinary topics addressed. In recent years has actively contributed to debates and the formation of opinions on strategies for sustainable development of financial investment companies, the development of business models at portfolio level, conceptualizing the systemic functioning of Of the financial education process, the prospects of the Romanian capital market. Mrs. Florentina Boboc has a 20 years experience in the capital market, coordinating, from the positions held during the 16 years of her career, the activity of authorizing, certifying and registering the regulated entities both within CNVM and during the last years in the ASF, from position of Deputy Director of the Regulatory Authorization Supervision Division. She was involved as a consultant to the working groups of the European institutions in the process of transposing European financial market directives into national legislation. Mr. Dorel Duță was elected President of UNSICAR in Decmbrie 2017, he is the representative of the non-banking financial market in the coordinating College of the Alternative Dispute Resolution entity SAL-FIN. He graduate the Faculty of Law, holds a management certificate obtained at the Open University Business School and has a series of specialization courses in the insurance field. Mr. Viorrel Vasile has an experience of over 19 years in insurance field. During 7 years he worked as General Manager of the company Forum Insurance. Starting with 2017 he is Founder Member and President of the first Patronate of Romanian Insurance Reinsurance Broker (PRBAR). Mr. Michael Brandstetter is Manager of EU and International Affairs at the Austrian Insurance Association (VVO) based in Vienna. He is responsible for VVO’s relations with the insurance markets in Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe (CESEE). He joined the VVO in 2014. Before joining the VVO Michael was from 2008 until 2014 advisor at the EU-office of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber (WKO) at the Austrian Permanent Representation to the EU in Brussels and responsible for financial services, trade policy, tax policy and foreign trade promotion. In his previous positions he was member of the founder team of the start-up company Lightglass and advisor at the Ministry of European and International Affairs of Austria in the context of the Austrian EU presidency. Michael was born in 1978 and has Austrian nationality. He holds a master degree in International Economic and Business Studies and a master degree in Political Science of the University of Innsbruck. During his studies he had spent a study year at the International Management School IECS in Strasbourg, France. He holds a postgraduate Diploma of the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna.
